London-based and Nigerian born fashion designer Duro Olowu has teamed up with JCPenney for a brand spankin’ new limited-edition Spring 2013 collection. And it’s definitely worthy of many occasions, from a springtime picnic to an evening soirée. I can totally see First Lady Michelle Obama, who is already a huge fan of how Olowu uses vibrant colors and prints, flaunting some of these flattering pieces.
But something you’ll love even more than the prints is the prices! The collection includes handbags, shoes, clothes, accessories and home décor, all ranging from $10 to $100. In a recent interview with InStyle.com, Olowu said, “This collection is for anyone from 18 to 80. Everything has a flattering element, whether you mix prints or pull out one piece and keep it simple.” Doesn’t that sound delicious?
I was fortunate enough to attend the Olowu & JCPenney celebration party during New York Fashion Week and got to see many of the pieces before they hit the stores. Check out the entire lookbook, as well as my Instagram coverage of the party, below. The line launched today (March 1) and will be available through May 2013 at JCPenney stores and online.
