While her CR Fashion Book is due out in September, Carine Roitfeld still had the time to lend her talents to the team at V Magazine. The former Vogue Paris editor, styled three vibrant — and boldly wigged — cover looks for V‘s “Youth Quake Issue,” on sale now.
Photographed by Sebastian Faena, who also contributed to the construction of Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book. For the cover on the left, Faena not only featured beautiful muses in Givenchy, but the shoot also brought in three unlikely props: Mice. (Though it’s highly doubtful these rodent accessories will be finding their way into our personal collections — at least, not by choice.)
In the middle cover, we find fun and playful printed outerwear by Comme des Garçons in pink, red and blue. A cover truly embracing the “Youth Quake” theme of the issue, we believe. For the third cover, Roitfeld combined bobbed wigs and winged eyeliner with darker, galactic-printed frocks by Balenciaga.
All three covers are separately adorable and lively, but together they mark a truly revolutionary movement coined by the former Vogue editor-in-chief Diana Vreeland in the 1960s. However, how are you to pick a cover??
We might have grabbed all three…. That MIGHT have happened. Just saying.
May the odds be ever in your favor.
