One of the best parts about New York Fashion Week is all the great beauty ideas we can try out. There’s a good chance we already have the stuff to recreate these looks on our own and we can’t wait to hit the town a la Rachel Zoe‘s first-ever runway beauty look. (See below.)
Best Painted Nail Art: Nicole Miller
CND helped create this swirly time machine look. Except we want to wear it in the here and now, and professional nail artistry isn’t required. We think an investment in some handy nail art pens would do the trick just fine. (BeautyHigh has a quick tutorial.)
Best Other Nail Art: Ruffian
What’s more luxe than a MAC velvet moon mani? Maybe actual gold, but even that would be a bit much for the runway. (24K gold nail polish, apparently, was already handed out in The Grammys gifting lounge.)
Best New Smoky Eye: Marc Jacobs
The runway is the place to reinvent the classic and this NARS undereye smoky look has us mesmerized. It will take some guts to actually pull this off this day-old makeup look, but Glamour’s Girls in the Beauty Dept. tackled a version suitable for everyday.
Best Wearable Look: Rachel Zoe
This is the way we love to think we look every time we blow out our hair and go heavy on the liquid eyeliner. Our execution may not be as rock ‘n’ roll, but this Maybelline look is oh-so-attainable for us normals with a little braid to sweeten it up for good measure. (In case you can’t tell in this pic, the crease is also lined for a little extra drama.)
Best Non-Wearable Look: Rodarte
Leave it to NARS and the Mulleavy sisters to make us want to put bronzer all over our face in the most unnatural way. This look was inspired by the Australian Outback. Although, we’re sure people would think we were crazy if we wore this on the streets of New York. (Maybe we should wear it regardless? People will just avert their eyes and avoid our windblown glare anyway.)
