Norisol Ferrari presented her Fall/Winter 2012 collection in the Box at Lincoln Center during New York Fashion Week, introducing a wardrobe for the femme fatale in every woman and focusing on feminine strength and being independent and self-defined — characteristics the designer embodies in her own life.
For her presentation, Ferrari dropped the usual clothes-wearing models for a somewhat surreal look, replacing them with mannequins. Except for one, an edgy, beautiful model standing in the center of the exhibition.
As I walked around, the clothes’ attributes became more and more obvious: The mannequins were the fashionable superhero or heroine in each of us. The designs showcase the designer’s expressed creativity and strong tailoring and incorporated all the of her favorite fabrics, furs and textures, such as alligator, mink, tweed, cashmere, lace, charmeuse, velvet, and her beloved leather. The patent leather bullet bras were made in collaboration with Zana Bayne Leather.
While you’re looking at the pictures below, try to pinpoint which of the designs best speaks to you and your inner femme fatale — and please don’t associate with Britney Spears‘ “Femme Fatale” album, that’ll just be counterproductive.
Be sure to check out her website, too.
